And after i rewatched it I came and read your review. I had avoided your review because I had only ever seen the original once and it had been a while, so I went back and watched it. Your post is dead on. The original is so much better in almost every way.<br /><br />I also loved when you mentioned Escape from LA. I'm always using that as a reference to describe when a movie has just gone to far. Movies now a days push so hard that they break reality and it pulls you out of the movie. In Escape, I loved the over the top basket ball scene, ridiculous, but at least possible...sort of. In the new kong i was rolling with the movie okish until the T-rex fight lasted 3 hours long. Now I like big monster fights but it had no meat to it, I got bored and then realized I was in the theater. <br /><br />When my wife came home from a trip I told her that I let the kiddos watch kong and she said "the new one"?
